متن کامل1 Reconstruction of Q - convex lattice sets
We study the reconstruction of special lattice sets from X-rays when some convexity constraints are imposed on the sets. Two aspects are relevant for a satisfactory reconstruction: the unique determination of the set by its X-rays and the existence of a polynomial-time algorithm reconstructing the set from its X-rays. For this purpose we present the notion of Q-convex lattice sets for which the...
متن کاملGeometric Tomography of Convex Cones
The parallel X-ray of a convex set K ⊂ R in a direction u is the function which associates to each line l parallel to u the length of K ∩ l. The problem of nding a set of directions such that the corresponding X-rays distinguish any two convex bodies has been widely studied in geometric tomography. In this paper we are interested in the restriction of this problem to convex cones, and we are mo...
متن کاملDetermination of Q-convex sets by X-rays
In this paper, the problem of the determination of lattice sets from X-rays is studied. We define the class of Q-convex sets along a set D of directions which generalizes classical lattice convexity and we prove that for any D, the X-rays along D determine all the convex sets if and only if it determines all the Q-convex sets along D. As a consequence, any algorithm which reconstructs Q-convex ...
متن کاملDiscrete Tomography: Determination of Finite Sets by X-Rays
We study the determination of finite subsets of the integer lattice Zn, n ≥ 2, by X-rays. In this context, an X-ray of a set in a direction u gives the number of points in the set on each line parallel to u. For practical reasons, only X-rays in lattice directions, that is, directions parallel to a nonzero vector in the lattice, are permitted. By combining methods from algebraic number theory a...
